TWINS !! TWINS !!

Whether they are boys or girls, or one of each, here are a few of the Notebook’s favorite baby shower gifts for the Mom expecting twins:

Skip Hop Duo Double Diaper Bag ($80) — This bag hangs on a side-by-side double stroller with ease. And looks great! Also a great carry on or travel bag. If the parents are using a front and back double stroller, go with the Skip Hop Duo bag ($54). It’s still large enough to carry all the essentials.

The Moby Wrap. ($35) These wraps made of t-shirt-like material are soft, comfortable and roomy enough to carry twins (see the twins cradle hold) — a feat worth bragging about.

Graco Twins Pack and Play ($190) — The first pack and play we have seen with twin bassinets. We like it!

Hanna Andersson outfits ($57-$59 for outfits above)– The Notebook’s favorite choice for outfits that don’t necessarily match, but look great in pairs. And great quality!

Tiny Sprouts “yes, i’,m a twin” onesies ($22 each) — We love the personalized onesies with the babies’ names on them, but also adore these “yes, I’m a twin” onesies. Pick your own thread colors and pants to match!

Wonder Twin Powers Activate! onesies ($44 for two). We may be showing our age here, but these vintage-looking super hero onesies make us want to shout “form of a Giraffe!”

For something a little different this year, here are a few fun and unique artistic gift ideas for the Dad or Husband in your life!

Kirby Ink Artwork — Whether your guy is someone well-known (can you guess who the top picture is?) or just famous for his love of Larry Bird (#33), Kirby of Kirby Ink can create a one-of-a-kind piece to fit your man.

Silhouette pictures by Cut Arts – There are so many things this artist can do with silhouettes. Kids, pets, parents — even imaginary figures. Whatever is special to your husband, can be recreated with this unique art form. Cut Arts is also offering Free Shipping to Clever Parents readers — just put “Clever Parents” in the comments section to get Free Shipping!

Photowow — Send in a picture and get it back four-fold — in pop art ! This website has many ways to spice up your pictures and turn them into art. This also looks great with pictures of man’s best friend — his dogs!

Little Kids’ Big Art – Kids’ art given the masterpiece treatment they deserve!

Magic Dog Studio — Cufflinks, money clips, tie tacks or wall art — all made from your child’s fingerprints (left), hand prints or original art. This is so original and so fun and so very modern Dad!

How long has the baby been sleeping? Is it time to pick the kids up from school? How much time before the babysitter arrives? How long before I have to be at work?

Which fashion accessory can help you answer all these questions? A watch, of course! And, if you have to check yours often, as most of us do, how about buying one that makes you smile? Here are some of our favorite casual, fun watches for Fall:

Mock Croc and Plaid:

These watches (ranging from $54 to $75) are all from Pedre . The bright colors and mock croc look are fun and unexpected. We also love this plaid watch as a great way to wear the trend without over-doing it. Read the rest »

I am so excited to be presenting Lena’s Notebook’s new long-sleeved Dino Tee!! This time, it’s an Apatosaurus, which, for those of you still “learning your dinosaurs” (as my son would say), was the dinosaur formerly known as “Brontosaurus.” The tee is based on a drawing which my son drew last month when making a card for me.

For those interested, the symbol found next to the name on each of our dino tees is a replica of the way our son drew dinosaurs when he was two. He would draw them over and over again on his Doodle pad. It was the beginning, and he hasn’t stopped drawing since.

The tee shirts are long-sleeved and are $18 each, with all net proceeds going to buy kids’ books for libraries and to support children’s library programs. The tees are available in sizes 2T, 4T and 6. We have also added an adorable baby tee in sizes 12-18m and 18-24m. You can purchase these through Lena’s on-line store.

Don’t forget about the Stegosaurus tee, our original Dino Tee.

My pick this week is from Lena’s Notebook (yes, that’s me).

We are now selling a long-sleeved version of the “Just Tryin’ To Matter Tee.”

I am so excited because ALL PROCEEDS from the sale of this shirt and the short-sleeved version, from now until the end of October, will be donated to the fight against breast cancer, specifically, to The Judy Ride Foundation(www.judyride.org). Read the rest »
