When she was expecting her first child, Lara Frankovitch searched for the perfect baby book to record her little one’s milestones and stories. Finding none that fit the bill, and being in the nesting phase of pregnancy, Lara decided to create her own way to capture her son’s stories. Using notecards to record the major milestones as well as the little things that make each day special, Tiny Tales was born. Read the rest »

First time around, we had one of those “My First Album” photo album baby toys (Who Loves Baby?). It ended up being one of my now-3-year-old’s favorite toys, he loved looking at pictures of us, himself and other family members. Of course, it got so completely slimed that I ended up having to throw it, and the pictures out once we were done with it.

The first step in album making or scrapbooking should not be purchasing an album!
Step 1: Gather all of your pictures into one area.
Step 2: Organize your printed pictures
Either organize the photos in chronological order or by event. Purchase (if you don’t already own) a photo safe (acid free) photo box. Use 4 x 6 index cards and adhesive tabs to create different indexes between the photos. Take your negatives and place in a fire safe box or bank safety deposit box. Read the rest »

And sometimes I see all these other mothers going to A.C. Moore or Michaels and coming up with all sorts of fun rainy day projects and I’m just at a loss.
So when I recently heard from FunWellDone.com, a great little site and service that makes creating projects with your child incredibly easy, I was interested to check them out. They’ve done all the craft store shopping and organization for you. In short, we loved it. Read the rest »
