This week we are giving you some relevant information about healthy diapers! Straight from the Diaper Diva herself, Shelly Tween from Kingston, New York.

When you think of cloth diapers, what comes to mind? If you don’t use cloth for your baby, you likely have visions of dirty, leak-prone, hard to manage diaper changes that you’d prefer a root canal to dealing with the mess.

Well, good-bye to the cloth diapers of your childhood – self-proclaimed Diaper Diva Shelly Tween is here to set the record straight.

Self-proclaimed Diaper Diva Shelley Tween urges parents to reconsider the health risks of plastic, disposable diapers. “The lack of disclosure of health risks with throwaways needs to be challenged. Cloth diapers are an important health product.”

Consumers have been kept in the dark, allowed to feel that throwaway diapers are a benign health choice and without risk. Cloth diapers have been completely reinvented. They are hi-tech, modern, and nearly hands-free. They are easily fastened with Velcro, and when they’re soiled, you throw them in a hamper, instead of a garbage can.

Most importantly, cloth diapers give babies healthy, rash-free skin. Cloth breathes, just like our skin, keeping babies cool and comfortable. Cloth users rarely experience diaper rash. In fact, most users stop using ointments and are amazed by the results!

Read more of what Shelly has to say on BabySwap.net.

Are you in the market for a nanny, a housekeeper or a personal chef (I wish!)? Check out this week's info swap for all of the questions you should ask and what signs to look for in a potential employee.

Today we goto The Best Nanny Newsletter to get some tips on how to interview household employees.

Interviewing household employees such as nannies, chefs, personal assistants, housekeepers, health care aides, and butlers is important. Each family and home has unique needs. Many potential problems can be avoided if the interview is properly conducted. During interviews the families and the job candidates often rely on their intuition. Although it is not wise to jump to conclusions, it is natural to get a sense of what individuals are like in the first minutes of meetings. As prospective employees and family members learn more about each other they can make informed decisions if their relationships may work.

In-person interviews are essential in helping families and potential employees determine if they are compatible. For example, in nanny in-person interviews the parents can judge how nannies and their children interact. Parents can describe activities their children enjoy to see if nanny candidates have an interest in those areas.

The good news about this swap? You don’t have to swap anything to get this week’s info: What is BabyProofing anyway? in which Paul shares 6 critical childproofing tips every parent should know.

Did you know that The National Safety Council states that over 2,500,000 children are hurt, injured, or worse each year around the home? Studies show that the greatest number of these accidents result from falling down stairs, choking, strangulation, poisoning, electrical burns, and drowning.

Want to learn more? Check out Paul’s article, What is “BabyProofing” anyway? on www.babyswap.net.

As babies grow, they leave in their wake a trail of happy memories, sleepless nights, and tons of barely used and untouched clothes, toys, equipment, and other stuff. From the newborn clothing baby outgrew before wearing them to the second bassinette you received as a gift, but couldn’t return, having a child means having stuff. But what to do once baby has grown? Scott and Laura Reathaford have your answer: swap it.While shopping one day for their not yet born daughter, Scott and Laura ran into another parent who complained she had a ton of baby stuff she no longer needed, but didn’t know how to get rid of it. Scott and Laura looked at each other and thought, there must be a business in this. A few months later, Babyswap.net was born—and so was their daughter, Emma Grace. BabySwap is an online venue where people can buy, sell or swap used baby goods, baby related services and baby related information.

BabySwap is more than an online classifieds site for several reasons. First, Scott and Laura realized that as new parents, they needed help! Help from other parents and help from professionals who provide baby services. However, they soon realized that there was no one place to find all of the goods, services and information they needed. So, BabySwap includes a place to find useful baby services simply by searching by city, state or zip code as well as an on-line forum where parents can chat about baby-related topics. Second, BabySwap does not accept banner ads like most classifieds and the site is intentionally designed to avoid the low-end classifieds image. In support of that image, the site has a clean look and no flashing ads. Laura says “we are really trying to avoid that ‘bargain basement classified’ image. We want people to list everything…from their high-end baby crib or stroller to their barely used baby onesies that are in great shape but are no use to their growing baby.”

Unlike other sites like eBay that take a percentage of the sale, BabySwap is free for individuals to swap goods or services, the site makes money from service providers who pay $10 a month for a listing. BabySwap does not act as a financial or transactional middleman, so ‘swappers’ determine how they complete their transactions.

So, has anything offered surprised them? Laura says that people wanting to swap services was something they didn’t expect, “first, when we initially started, we never thought people would be willing to swap services! But, if you look at some of the listings, we have people who are willing to provide nanny or daycare in exchange for web development and PR….that blew us away.”

Visit www.babyswap.net to swap all of the treasures your baby no longer needs.
