CLAYTON, MO (April 24, 2009) Sixty-five new moms and moms-to-be from four branches of the military in 15 states across the nation will be showered with gifts between now and Mother’s Day as a part of the latest efforts of Operation Shower. Operation Shower gathered last Saturday in Fort Bragg, North Carolina for a Mother’s Day celebration to complete the mission of showering 100 new moms and moms-to-be whose husbands are soldiers. Twenty moms and their soon-to-be redeployed husbands from the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion gathered for an afternoon of food, gifts, raffle prizes and fun. Read the rest »

We hope that Mother’s Day was a little more special this year for the 100 moms-to-be of deployed and soon-to-be redeployed soldiers who were showered with gifts in honor of the 100th anniversary of Mother’s Day. On Saturday, May 10th, Operation Shower, in partnership with Wal-Mart, its suppliers and 40 other companies, completed its mission of hosting unit wide showers in Twentynine Palms, California, in San Diego for the spouses of soldiers aboard the USS Nimitz, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina and at Scott Air Force Base.
