scooterAbout 20,000 E300 Razor USA electric scooters have been recalled, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The welds on the handlebars of the scooters can detach, causing risk of injury. So far, 25 reports of detached handlebars resulting in a few minor injuries have been reported to Razor.

“The recalled scooters are blue or silver. This recall includes only products with barcodes beginning in 100620-03 through -09. Products with other barcodes or no barcode are not included in this recall. The barcode can be located on the steering stem, the battery tray, the charger, and the product’s packaging.”

The scooters were sold from January 2006 through October 2006 at Pep Boys stores nationwide and various Internet retail sites for between $190 and $230. “Consumers should stop using the product immediately and contact Razor USA to obtain a free repair kit.”
