David and Kris are thrilled to announce the birth of the latest Clever Parents team member…
Charles Jackson.
Charles was born on Thursday, September 20, 2007.
He weighs 8 pounds 4 ounces and is 20 inches long.
Mommy and Charles are doing well as is the rest of the family, especially Henry and Will who are eagerly anticipating teaching Charles to walk.
On the nursing front, Henry and Will are both quite curious. I was nursing Charles Sunday after coming home from the hospital with him. Henry was interested in the process especially when Charles spit up a little milk, then when some milk dripped onto Charles’ outfit.
Henry said, “I don’t want to see that, ’cause I’m not a milk man.”
Will’s response has been really positive to his new little brother. He calls Charles ‘my baby’ and jumps up and down when he sees him.
The first comment that hinted otherwise came Tuesday when Henry was at preschool. Will, irritated that Charles had to eat before we could go on a walk, said to me, “No - I don’t want my baby! I want my baby to go back in your belly!”
How about you? What are some of the amusing things your children have said when a new baby joined your family?

He’s beautiful, Kris. Congratulations! You’ve got an out and out House of Windsor at your place: William, Henry and Charles! I think it’s absolutely charming! I want another one! And if it’s a boy, we heart the name Charles (of course! Why should our uncanny similarities in name preferences stop now?)

Congratulations Kris & David, and big brothers Henry & Will! He’s simply adorable.
Of course, our Gaga Goods PRINCE CHARMING design will be just perfect — I’m sending a gift to the little prince (and the big brother princes) today so watch your mailbox!
And as a Mom of three boys myself, I promise you’ll survive. And how perfect is it that you’re still the Queen of the Castle?! Enjoy.

Hi Kris and David,
Congratulations! Kris you sure are outnumbered by boys now, but I know you can handle it! He is a beautiful baby, and you look so happy and pretty in your picture! When Jack was born, Emily was at first excited, but then retorted, “What do we need him for when we have ME?”

What a beautiful gift for your family, Kris and David. Congrats!! I can’t wait for all our boys to play together again soon.
Love,
Sharon

Oh, Charles is so beautiful! And loving Henry claiming that he is not a milk man! How cute is he? When my baby Houston was crying and I couldn’t get him to calm down, my older son said, “what kind of mommy lets her baby cry like that?” Whew. children poignant arn’t they?

[…] At first, I wasn’t sure what to make of being invited to go to the great children’s mecca without the family, but I figured it would be a good opportunity to meet some new people and spend a little one-on-one time with Charles. I didn’t know any of the other moms before the weekend and since the agenda was kept a secret until our arrival I also didn’t know what to expect. […]
