Clever Parents Seal of Approval
With so many products on the marketplace, how is a parent to know which to trust and buy? The Clever Parents Seal of Approval is your answer to this daunting question. The seal is not reached by marketing or advertising executives; there are no test kitchens or teams of decision makers. The Clever Parents Seal of Approval is reached by certain criteria and is a simple recommendation from one Clever Parent to another.
As a busy mom and professional organizer, I want products that work well and are as advertised. The following are the set of criteria in which I judge each item:
- Budget or Luxury Item
- Family Friendly (safe for the family, pets, and environment)
- Truth in Advertising
- Practicality and Versatility
- Any town or Specialty product
The Review
Budget or Splurge Item: Budget, however I did go through the bottle quite quickly!
Family Friendly product: Yes and No. Although this product is better than some on the market, it still requires a “Mr. Yuck” sticker! This product should be kept out of the reach of your children. In addition, although the fumes are not toxic or offensive, it is recommended to use in a well ventilated area. If you have sensitive skin, you should wear gloves. This is not a cleaning product to give to your child to use for his or her chores! There are some areas that you are warned not to use this product, these areas are frosted glass, aluminum or galvanized metal, natural stone or marble, Mexican or Terra Cotta tiles and re-glazed surfaces. It is also warned against allowing the formula to stay on metal, fabrics, or carpet as it may discolor these items. Please read the caution and first aid sections on the back of the product before using. In addition, be sure to check with the manufacturer instructions on items that you plan on cleaning with this product. As a positive note, this product took care of the soap scum in my shower far better than the more dangerous (and damaging) bleach products that I have used in the past.
Truth in Advertising: This item is recommended for soap scum, rust stains, hard water buildup, calcium & lime stains and is to be used on bathroom countertops, tubs, shower tile, bathroom and shower fixtures and sinks. I followed the directions on the back of the bottle and used this item throughout my home and was rather impressed with most of the results. My tile shined, my sinks gleamed, and it did cut through the soap scum in the shower, although it did take a bit of elbow grease. I did not have the best results with rust stains, possibly a very slight improvement. I did, however, go through the entire bottle while cleaning 3 bathrooms (1 large tub and 2 showers) and 1 kitchen.
Practicality and Versatility: I found this product to do an awesome job on certain things, but not very versatile. The fact that it did such an amazing job on the soap scum and tile still makes it a practical choice, in my opinion.
Any town or Specialty product: This product can be easily found in stores and on their website at www.kaboomkaboom.com
From one Clever Parent to another: In my opinion, if you are looking for a product to seriously cut through the soap scum in your home, this product will do the trick. It is probably one of the best soap scum busters that I have ever tried (and I have tried many)!!
Seal of Approval: AWARDED!
