Sometimes we just have to let loose a little, lighten the tight reigns we have over our life. We spend so much time planting and tending to the roses in our life; that we forget to smell them. Life does not always have to be rigid, by the book, or over the top. Sometimes the simple things in life are the most rewarding.
Grab a blanket and eat your dinner as a picnic lunch outside in your backyard. Make a batch of cookies and share them with a neighbor. Show up at your daughter’s bedroom door wearing your fanciest party dress and invite her to a tea party. Pitch a tent in the backyard, or dust off that picnic basket and load it up with lunch and go to a state park for the day.
Sometimes planning for spontaneity can be the most difficult preparation, as you must plan to do nothing! No lists, no plans, and very little preparation. Be creative, keep things simple, and spontaneously enjoy your family this week!!
Please share your spontaneity with fellow Clever Parent readers and inspire others to toss out the checklists, for a couple hours anyhow!!
