Ms. Morrissey,

On behalf of the 2,700 Soldiers assigned to 1st Medical Brigade extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to you, your family, friends and the companies who donated items, for displaying such gracious generosity during Operation Shower and making Christmas a whole lot brighter for our Brigade moms. We had maximum attendance from both Soldiers who are expecting to spouses of Soldiers (most deployed) who are either expecting or recently gave birth to their child. In fact, following Saturday’s shower party, one of our Specialists went straight to Darnall Army Medical Center and, 4 hours later, gave birth to a healthy, 8 lbs boy!!!

It is only through your tireless efforts and hard work—not to mention having you and your family travel across two states from your home—that Operation Shower for our 44 mothers was a resounding success! It was obvious to both Mary and me that you have a wonderful family with big hearts and sincere love for others. Our Commander in Chief, President Bush, recently noted that the holidays, “is a time to gather in the spirit of gratitude with family, friends, and neighbors, it is also an opportunity to serve others and to share our blessings with those in need. By answering the universal call to love a neighbor as we want to be loved ourselves, we make our Nation a more hopeful and caring place.” Thanks to you, your husband, Ed, your son, Keilan, and Cheryl and Curt Lindeman for playing such a significant role in making Fort Hood and 1st Medical Brigade a more hopeful and caring place…..

We wish you and your family a very, merry Christmas and an even more prosperous New Year!

[...] Miss the news on Operation Shower? See the vidcast from the baby shower for 17 Army moms in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, check out a list of all of the goodies they received and read some stories from the press about the event. [...]

I was one of the lucky moms of Operation Shower. I wanted to say thank you for all of your support and hard work in making the shower a success. It was an honor to know that people cared and wanted to do this for us. I can never express how much this truly meant to me so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
