Thank you Geraline for your wonderful comments. We have so much stuff in our home that would be defined as “clutter.” Great ideas on how to define it, so that the couple can then move forward with “de-cluttering” their home. We have two boys; one is 3 and the other is 7. I think we will get rid of the easy stuff first, like much of the children’s art projects and those boys’ toys, the gigantic plastic cars, dump trucks, and such that haven’t been touched for over 6 months. Eliminating those alone would free up a tremendous amount of space and reduce some of that “clutter” stress one feels when you return home and feel like the house has been taken over by “stuff.”

Great video! Geralin’s tips were very helpful to me, as I am a mother of four, ages 3 to 10 years. I often feel very overwhelmed with the clutter, and never thought about how it enters my home and creates additional chaos. I will now be more aware of the clutter, before I even let it come or stay in my house (i.e., kids school papers, goodies, cosmetic freebees, etc.) It inspired me to get rid of those unused kitchen gadgets, cosmetics, and kid “treasures”. Thank you Geralin, I will definitely tune in to future videos and articles.

I really like your vidcasts. They’re interesting, informative, and fun to watch. This is inspiring me! Maybe I should invest in a video setup for my blog, Working Moms Against Guilt. In the meantime, though, we’ll keep doing it old-school. Thanks for doing this awesome site!

Thanks, Geralin! You dispensed some good advice without being “preachy”. Defining “clutter” helps a lot, especially using the phrase “life stage”. Now, if you can advise me as to the best way to convince my husband that his 22 year old college textbooks and notes are obsolete and that those knit neckties are not coming back into style anytime soon (not that he wears them, mind you), I would be grateful!
